Hello, today I cooked Kidchri and green cabbage subji. Kidchri is basically a combination of rice and dal. This is our fast vegetarian food in India. It is a dish cooked by saints and sages in all over India. Also it is a Ayurvedic and yoga food. Kidchri can be cooked many different ways, with many different kinds of dal (lentils). A person can cook a very rich Kidchri with many different spices or one can cook very simple and quick for a healthy and nutritious meal. Those who don't have much time for cooking, this is the best way of eating a good balance of grains, legumes, and vegetables, for a complete meal. Kidchri can be cooked vegan as well as vegetarian, just substitute  vegetable oil instead of ghee.  I plan on posting a video on my way of cooking Kidchri in the future.

Hare Krishna.

Mung dahl recipe

This is a Mung dahl recipe that is cooked with a different seasoning that has a very different flavor than most mung dahl recipes. It is made with the spice Radhuni.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radhuni   You can get this spice in most Indian grocery stores. This spice is used in Bengali cooking for making Shukta (Bittermelon and vegetable stew), it has a very exotic and strong aroma. Mung dahl can be cooked many different ways, most recipes use cumin seeds, but I have used Radhuni, which gives a different flavor. I hope you enjoy
